Diane Yetter photoIn Florida, computer consulting services are exempt as long as no tangible personal property is transferred in connection with the service. So you would not need to collect sales tax for this kind of support for Florida customers. This type of service could be taxable in other states. Whether you are required to collect the tax will depend on if you are deemed to have nexus in the customer's state. If you have questions about nexus, view link to download a nexus whitepaper. If you're interested, we can perform a review of other states where you might have nexus to determine if you need to collect and remit sales tax on these services in other states. Please feel free to contact me for information about our services.
