Therefore, unless there is a specific customer exemption that might apply, you are required to collect the 7% Mississippi sales tax on the charges for your services and materials. Once you are registered and obtain your sales tax registration number, you should be able to issue a resale certificate to your suppliers to avoid paying tax to them on the purchase of materials that you charge to your customers.
